Christmas Cookies in a Mason Jar

Tonight for a ward activity at church we got together and made some mason jars that have all the fixings in them to make some really yummy cookies! It's a super easy recipe and I think that this is going to definitely be my go to gift for the holidays this year. You know, when people get you something and then you awkwardly didn't get them anything? We've all been there! So it's nice to have one of these hanging out so you can grab it in a moments notice!
Note: use a wide mouth 1 quart jar!

Ingredients: (put things in jar in exact order)
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & leveled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m&ms
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar

Directions:
Put everything into your wide mouth 1 quart jar in the exact order of the ingredients above.

Close the jar and then top with a festive fabric and tie a bow around it with a festive ribbon.

You can make cute labels for the front.

Then on the back make another label with the following instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°
Add
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients
Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls
Bake for 10 mins

  1. I love that this is on your blog! I actually got the idea off another blog, so I'll link to it here. It's got the printables, too. http://thelarsonlingo.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-cookies-in-jar-free-printable.html
