Our Christmas

This year was the first Christmas that we didn't travel to see family for the actual holiday. It was fun to get to solidify and do our own traditions but at the same time, it was a bit lonely too. We definitely missed not getting to spend Christmas with our families, but hopefully next year!

On Christmas Eve we got ourselves into the Christmas Spirit by reading Luke 2, watching Christmas movies, and decorating some more sugar cookies. This was obviously Jay's favorite part, although we didn't let him get super messy and just go for it like last time.

Christmas morning was just perfect. We took our time waking up, and opening presents. We took breaks to let Jay play with his toys before moving onto the next gift, and Em happily cooed and played with her new baby play gym. She is starting to reach, grab, and play with toys a lot more, which has been so fun!

Jay's favorite part was definitely the wrapping paper. He would just rip it right off and then go to another package under the tree without really taking a second to look at what he had just unwrapped. It was pretty funny to say the least. Aside from wrapping paper... I think Jay was pleasantly surprised to have a stocking filled with all his favorite treats (fruit pouches, raisins, gold fish, cereal, animal crackers, etc...) he promptly opened all of it and had himself quite the little pre-breakfast feast. He then ate an entire cinnamon roll... I was seriously afraid he was going to throw up.
