The Best Chili Recipe

We love chili in our house. It's one of those meals that I can serve and guarantee the happiness of Derek and Jay. I get piece of mind knowing that there are some vegetable getting into our systems. Also, anything that can sit in a crock pot all day, and taste amazing by dinnertime is pretty much one of my all time favorite things.

This is the recipe that we use every time we're going to make chili. We've gone through so many chili recipes in the last few years, but we keep coming back to this one again and again. Whenever we go somewhere that requires me to make this and bring it in the slow cooker, Derek always asks me which one is mine when we get there, and then goes straight for our chili, and nothing else. He's a creature of habit I tell you.

Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef (I use 93% lean)
1/2 cup diced onion
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
1 14 oz can tomato sauce
2 14 oz cans mild chili beans, do not drain and rinse
1 14 oz can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 14 oz can of corn, don't drain
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
salt and pepper to taste
Shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, and chips for optional garnish

Directions:
Brown the meat in a skillet, drain off the fat and then transfer to the crock pot. Add in all the remaining ingredients, stir, and then cook on low for 4 hours or high for 8! Serve, and enjoy!

  5. Oh my goodness, I love chili too, it's one of my favoritist things ever. But my hubby hates the beans in it...(doesn't chili equal beans?? haha) so I had to start making straight up meat-no-beans-chili >.<
Your recipe looks delicious, are those chips on top?
