The Perfect Saturday

This weekend was one of those weekends that I wish lasted forever. Derek got home unexpectedly at midnight on Friday, and then Em slept through the entire night. That right there is a miracle. We all slept in Friday morning and then played at home and ran errands in the morning before we all took afternoon naps a few hours later. We then went out for smoothies, came home and lounged around the rest of the day.

Saturday we woke up bright and early to head out to the farmer's market for our first time as a family. I had gone once with a few friends, but this was the first time Derek and the kids got to experience it too. We had such a great morning leisurely taking our time walking through the market with our friends, sampling the yummiest foods, and browsing the most beautiful handmade goods. Ironically. all these pictures were supposed to be taken while we were at the farmer's market, but I forgot the memory card for my camera, so we went home and took naps, and then went back later that afternoon for round two.

Jay is at this age where he remembers where he is. and the things we do at each place. If we're at the corner where we turn into our neighborhood he'll say, "Yay, lets go home!", and when we showed up at the town square for round two of fun this weekend, he said, "I want to play on the train".

This small train playground is one of the very first things we found when we moved to Georgia in March. We live only a few miles from the main town square and so when I didn't know anyone or anything, we found ourselves playing on this train more times than I can count. It was so fun to see Jay remember it, and to see him having so much fun there again.

Another great thing about this weekend was that the weather finally started to feel like fall! When we left for the market Saturday morning Derek and I were running around the house trying to find warm clothes for the kids, and then were actually questioning whether we actually thought they were warm enough. The changes happened over night, but was welcomed by me because it meant I could bust out some warm fall clothes I've been dying to wear.
One of my new favorite pieces is this watch from Jord. I've heard Janssen rave about hers for months now, so when one found it's way to my house a few weeks ago, it was love at first sight. I love how gorgeous all the wood finishes are, and the rose gold plating on the one I picked out adds the most beautiful finish to any outfit.

I love pieces that are just simple and easy that I don't have to think about, and this watch definitely fits into that category. It goes perfectly with everything in my closet, and is the greatest quality, so I know it's going to last forever. It looks like I can finally retire the $12 white and lime green watch Derek bought me four years ago when we were engaged.
