What's in My Bag? + $40 Paypal Cash Giveaway!

I'm at this really great place in parenting right now with Jay and Em. Jay can talk and talk all day long, and you can actually hold a conversation with him. Em while she still isn't sitting, is a lot stronger, and has a lot more longevity to play with toys on the floor by herself during tummy time, which means I can actually get a substantially larger amount of housework done then I could the last 14 months of my life.

Another great parenting win is the fact that we're far enough out of the baby phase that both kids schedules are pretty predictable. This means we can run errands in the morning and afternoon and I know how long I have before both kids start getting antsy. It's also nice that I no longer need to worry about carrying a massive diaper bag with me everywhere I go, because everything I need fits right in my purse.

Diapers & Wipes: We're actually at a really good spot where I typically don't need to change diapers when we go out anymore, but we've all been that mom who hasn't had a diaper and all of a sudden one of their kids are stinky. I try to prevent this at all cost.

Desitin: My kids hardly ever get a diaper rash, but when we do, it's totally unpredictable. I've used Desitin on both of my kids and have had amazing results every time. I apply it at the first sign of redness and within a day there is no sign of reddness on my child's bum. I personally swear by it, and it really is the only diaper rash cream I've ever purchased. There was one time in Idaho where my sister-in-law and I were mixing crisco, and essential oils together as a last minute effort when it was late at night and we didn't have any other options... and it pretty much did nothing except grease my child like a Thanksgiving turkey. Also, right now you can get 25% off Desitin using the Target Cartwheel App which is always thrilling.

A Snack: I basically use the car as an easy way to get Jay to eat a fruit or veggie. I normally stash a couple pouches in my purse for him to happily suck down in his carseat, and I bring a spoon in case Em gets ravenously hungry and I need to feed her one too.

My Wallet: This probably goes without saying, but I never leave without it. My phone also fits perfectly inside mine and so it's nice to always know where my phone is instead of digging in my purse.

My Planner: Between blogging, copious amounts of doctor appointments for Em, and play groups for Jay, there is a lot to keep track of and I never leave without my planner. Whenever I'm out there is usually a gaurantee that I'll get a call/text/email, about something that's going on, and if I don't write it down immediately, I'm likely to forget about it and be a no-show. Just ask me how well Derek and I's dentist and dermatologist appointments went last month. Oh right, we missed them.

I'll be self-hosting a $40 paypal cash giveaway now through 11/19/2015 so that you can pick up all your favorite essentials at Target. Enter to win using the rafflecopter below. Winner will be personally e-mailed by me, and announced on twitter.

  2. I love how moms always have a snack in their purse! The other day I was hungry and my sister whipped out like 5 snacks. I'm sure my niece didn't mind sharing with me :)

  7. I need to start carrying a paper planner. I usually just do stuff in my cell phone, but it is still easy to forget things unless I have an ability to see it all out at once!!

  8. I prefer the multi purpose ointment. That way you always have something useful in the bag! Thanks for the chance!
