Piano Christmas Decor

One of my very favorite parts of owning our own home is feeling like I can really invest time and money into seasonal decor for our home. In other places that we've lived, we've kept the decor pretty minimal because what might work for one apartment we were living in, might not work well in another. Also, when storage space is limited, your children's clothing, and food storage take precedence over holiday decor.

We have most of the decor that we're going to use for our fireplace pretty set already A garland to go across the top, our stockings, and our stocking holders... a little more foliage, and maybe a couple more items/vases, and we'll be pretty set. One area though that I wanted to really tackle, and look great is our piano. Since our house has a pretty open floor plan for the man living area, you can see all the rooms really easily, and I want it to look like we decorated the entire house, and not just the living room.

We have our piano in our playroom, which is just off of the living room, so to make the decor transition from one room to the next, relatively easily, I added a great winter garland to the top of the piano. The next thing I added was this simple "believe" sign that I picked up at a local craft store, and then I made another one of my massive picture frames to go on the wall above the piano. I try to keep most of my Christmas decor more spiritual than the typical "ho, ho, ho", so I loved this sign that says, "Oh come let us adore Him". I thought lyrics to one of my favorite Christmas hymns only seemed fitting right above the piano, don't you think?

To finish off the piano, I added two candles from the American Home by Yankee Candle collection available at Walmart. I love that these candles have a clean burn from start to finish and come with the same great Yankee Candle quality for a fraction of the price. Walmart has a large collection of these candles with all different scents, but I personally loved the warm holiday feel the Fresh Balsam Fir, and Apple Cinnamon Cider scents.

I'd love to see how you're decorating your piano this Christmas season, so be sure to tag photos on Instagram with the hashtag #LoveAmericanHome so I can see your pictures and give them a like!
