Five Ingredient Everything Bagel Recipe

About a year ago my friend Amanda shared these bagels made without yeast on her blog. I was super curious and LOVE bagels, so I gave them a try and was totally hooked. Do they taste as good as a normal bagel off the street of NYC? No. But do they taste pretty darn good for being made in your kitchen in just 30 minutes. you bet.

Since making those blueberry bagels last year, we've made this homemade everything bagel variation several times, and they've been perfect! There literally is nothing better than popping one of these fresh out of the oven, cutting it open, slathering some butter on top, and eating it. They are amazing.

These bagels can be made without a mixer, and use common ingredients like all purpose four that you already have on hand!

1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
Everything Bagel Seasoning

Preheat oven to 375ยบ. In a large bowl whisk together your flour, salt, and baking powder. Add in your Greek yogurt and mix together until it forms a bread dough consistency. You may need to use your hands to mix all the flour in well.

Bring all the dough together in a ball, and then cut it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece out like a long snake, and then press the ends together to form a circle. Do this for all four pieces, and then place on a parchment lined baking mat.

Brush your egg onto each bagel, and then sprinkle with your bagel seasoning. Bake in your oven on the top rack for 25 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

  1. I tried these this morning and they turned out great, I seasoned with garlic salt and nutritional yeast, for a cheesy flavor. I also used lactose free, fat free yogurt instead of greek and it worked just fine :) Thanks for the great idea.

  2. says to add greek yogurt but not listed in ingredients?

    1. It's listed as the first ingredient in the list, you need 1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt!

  3. Can you use this recipe for different flavors? Such as blueberry?

    1. Blueberries could be pretty wet and effect the consistency of the batter. If it gets too runny you could try adding more flour. I've done a cinnamon raisin version before and that worked well! I think dry mix ins would be better than wet ones!
