Halloween Whoopie Pies!

I love the holiday season and trying new recipes. I recently saw this recipe for Halloween Whoopie Pies on the back of a cake mix box and decided that it would be the perfect treat to make for some
friends we have coming over tomorrow.

You could make these lots of different ways with marshmallow fluff, or adding orange food coloring to the frosting, but I made these with a simple cake mix and an easy cream cheese frosting, and they were perfect.

1 Pillsbury devils food cake mix
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons veg. oil
2 eggs

Preheat your oven to 350a degrees. In a large bowl mix all of the ingredients together on medium speed until well mixed. Roll the dough into dime sized balls and place on baking sheets with parchment paper. Bake for 7 minutes and allow to cool completely on a wire rack. About 16 minutes.

8 oz cream cheese
1/2 square butter
2-4 cups confectioners sugar (I just kept adding until I got the right consistency)

Mix all ingredients together until light and fluffy and then frost the flat sides of the cookies. you can either spoon on the frosting, or use a piping bag fitted with a plain tip. If desired, roll the edges into a bowl of sprinkles. We used Wilton Halloween sprinkles for these cookies.
