Kitchen Spotlight: Whatever's Left

The Happy Flammily is proud to have it's first guest post on the blog today! Lauren-Nicole of Whatever's Left is a gluten free blogger, here to share her amazing recipes with the world! I'm glad to have her here with us today! So many people have gluten allergies and feel restricted to the things they can eat, I'm here to say that Whatever's Left changes this! Lauren-Nicole's blog is full of amazing and delicious recipes that will have your mouth watering the second you get to her page!

Clearly you can see that she is not restricted in what she eats because of her gluten-free diet! Is your mouth watering yet? Mine is. I had the chance to interview Lauren-Nicole and get to know her better and let me tell you, she is awesome, honest, sweet, and gives awesome advice! Take a look!

What got you into cooking?
My grandfather is the reason I cook. He isn't the most lovable of men. In truth, he's cold, calloused, business obsessed & adamant that his girls should be able to hold their liquor & know how to throw a punch. He had a love for food though that was unmistakable & it was only when he was cooking that I saw him truly relax & be happy. I taught myself how to make pecan pies when I was a little girl as an attempt to bake my way into his heart & in one way or another, I've been cooking ever since.

Why did you want to start a blog?
Mel (my fiance) & I fell in love over food & a mutual talent for being socially awkward. The more we cooked, the more we wanted to keep track of everything that left our kitchen. It also gave me an excellent excuse to get back into my photography.

What are your favorite things to cook?
Pie, I love making pie. Don't get me wrong, I have a love for many things, especially the finicky ones that require attention to detail... but pie still wins every time.

What advice do you have for bloggers who are just starting out?
Do it because you love to do it. Do it for yourself. If you pour passion into what you're writing, it shows & people will feed off of your love for the subject.

What is your favorite thing to eat?
Dolmades, they contain three of my favorite things: lemon, meat & rice.

Any last remarks?
Life is no fun if you spend all your time worried about your weight instead of enjoying the food that's in front of you.

Amen to the last one sister! Well there you have it! Are you now as obsessed with this girl, and her blog as I am? Just wanted to give one more thank you to Lauren-Nicole from Whatever's Left for hanging out with us today!
