Buckwheat Farm, Apex NC

Like I mentioned yesterday, we went strawberry picking on Saturday. It was so much fun! Whenever I'm planning a fun activity for our family, I spend way too long on Google making sure we're going to the best place, and that it's going to provide the most fun for Jay. After an hour of deliberation, we decided on Buckwheat Farms in Apex, NC and it did not disappoint! 

They had some of the biggest berries that I've ever seen. Derek and I would pick the berries and hand them off to Jay who would proudly place them in our bucket for us. He was super thrilled. They also had a bunch of animals to see at the farm which made it all the more fun for Jay. We thought for sure he was going to cry when we tried to get him to feed some straw to a horse but he loved it! It was so fun to see his little face light up when the horse took the food right from his hand, and then Jay would give it a little pat on it's head. (Although I was cringing at the thought of all the germs getting on him and couldn't wait to get him home to wash his hands...) 

Buckwheat Farms also makes homemade ice cream on site which we didn't try because it was 9am, but when we go back in a couple months for blueberry picking we're definitely going to give it a whirl. I mean, you really can't go wrong with homemade ice cream made with fruit straight from the farm can you? I say nay, you cannot. If you're in the Raleigh-Durham area, this goes in my book as a must this summer!
