Fueling Your Day with Breakfast

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Weave Made Media® and Lifeway Kefir, but all my opinions are my own. #weavemade #http://my-disclosur.es/RgFrEH

Like I mentioned last week, Derek is on Spring Break from school for the next two weekends which means we've been trying to pack in as much fun as humanly possible. On Saturday we thought that it would be fun to take Jay to a local farm to see some animals and go berry picking. Knowing it was going to be a long morning out of the house, clearly we were going to need to start his day off right with a great breakfast.

We wanted the day to be special for Jay so we rolled out all his favorites for breakfast... Pancakes, fruit pouches, and smoothies. Truly a dream meal for the dashingly handsome toddler in my life. While pancakes definitely seem like a splurge treat for breakfast, when coupled with Lifeway's Kefir Probiotic Smoothies, with 11g of protein and 12 live and active cultures, we felt good knowing Jay was getting all the nutrients he needed for a morning at the farm.

I've definitely learned over the last 21 months of being a mother that the key to getting our child to eat healthy is to pair fun foods that he already knows he loves (ahem, pancakes), with healthier choices like fruit and smoothies.

Having a healthy breakfast paid off in the end when Jay was able to run through the strawberry fields, feed horses, and play with mom and dad. Clearly a testament to us that breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day! A big thanks to Lifeway for helping us start our morning off right!

How do you get your kids to eat healthy? I'd love to hear your tips! Lifeway Kefir will be celebrating moms this month in honor of Mother's Day. Share your mealtime stories on social media using #MotherCulture to join in on all the fun!
