Pullen Park, Raleigh NC

Last Saturday, boredom struck so we thought we would head over to Raleigh to check out Pullen Park. Pullen Park is apparently one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. I thought it was funny that they called it that since it's not what you would typically call an amusement park, but it was a lot of fun.

They have a carousel, a train, a couple different playgrounds, and some paddle boats that you can rent and ride around the pond in. There is also some form of a kiddie boat ride that we actually didn't see, so I can't vouch for how cool it may or may not be.

That being said, the entire car ride there I was telling Jay how we were going to ride a train, and that it was going to be awesome blah, blah, blah, and then we get there and of course the train was having mechanical issues and wouldn't be fixed for at least a week.

So we stood in the long line, got some tickets, and then went and rode the carousel. Jay had pretty much zero emotion the entire time during the ride. I thought he would either scream in fear or laugh and think it was great, but he was stone cold straight faced the entire time.

After that we just walked around the grounds, saw a snake eat a fish, and then decided to come back another day when the train was working. Luckily I have a doctor appointment in Raleigh this morning so we're hoping to ride the train for reals this time when we get done. Wish us luck!
