Save vs Splurge| Denim Jacket

In 9th grade (back in 2006), a denim jacket was a piece of clothing I didn't think I could live without. I begged for one for an entire year before I finally saved my money and got one myself. I then went on to never wear it, and then gave it to the salvation army a couple years later. Probably with the tags still on it. 

This year, I found myself in the same plait as my 9th grade self. Doing almost anything I could to find the perfect denim jacket. They are such a good basic piece to have in your closet because they never go out of style, (my mom wore them in the 90's, I wanted on in 06' and now in 14'... I think they're hanging in there), and they can be worn in so many different ways. 

A few weeks ago I found a perfect jacket, with a classic wash and fit that I loved from Madewell, but the $118 price tag was way more than I was willing to spend. Yesterday I found myself in Target, while they were putting basically the entire women's department on clearance, and found the perfect jacket for half off! I paid only $17.48 for a jacket that I feel is just the right wash, not too many cheesy faux rips in it, and it's just the right cut. Another thing I'm loving about this jacket is that I'll be able to wear it during and after my pregnancy, and I'll get to keep it for years to come!
