A Lazy Saturday Evening

Growing up, I learned two things from my dad (I actually learned a lot more than two things, but for the sake of the post... you get the point), dinner should be easy, and it should be made on the grill. I've been in a dinner rut for the last few weeks and always try to complicate that pesky third meal of the day way too much. With Derek's new job, having every-other-Friday off means we spend way too much of our weekends running around trying to get so much stuff done, that we never really take any time to relax. 

This weekend we decided to get done the most important things on Friday, and spend Saturday together as a family, just relaxing and playing outside all day! It was such a nice pace from our typical go-go-go routine. Friday while we were out we stopped at Walmart to grab a Jack's Pizza so we could throw it on the grill to cook on Saturday, and then we also picked up some new fruit and veggie Outshine Bars for dessert. It was one of those day that was just so perfect and easy. 

Jay is at this fun stage where he just loves playing outside. His favorite game is finding all these pine cones in our yard and putting them in his Tonka truck. He also loves running back and forth from Derek's car to my car. His future track coach is going to love his willingness for suicides.
