37 Christmas Read Aloud Chapter Books

Christmas Read Aloud Chapter Books are an excellent way to connect with your children at bedtime throughout the holiday season.

While I never thought that this would be my life... my kids love books. Especially Kyle who can be found reading anywhere from 30-60 chapter books per week. That's not a typo. With Christmas coming up I wanted to compile a good list of Christmas read aloud chapter books that we could read together as a family, and that Kyle could read to himself before bed. If you're in the market for some Christmas chapter books for kids, here are 38 titles we've either already read, or are excited to read this holiday season.

37 Christmas Read Aloud Chapter Books:

Christmas read aloud chapter books. Christmas chapter books 2nd grade. Winter chapter books.Christmas books for tweens. Christmas chapter books for kids. The best Christmas chapter books. Christmas books for kids. Early chapter books about Christmas. Readaloud Christmas books. #books #reading #Kids #family #christmas #holiday

Happy Narwhalidays: We actually haven't dived into this series yet, but this book is broken up into three holiday themed stories, including on about the arrival of Merry-Mermicorn, a Christmas themed unicorn/mermaid who comes to celebrate!

Dragon’s Merry Christmas: I love this Dragon book series and the Halloween one was a favorite for me growing up. We haven't read the Christmas version, but it's a collection of Dragon themed short stories that are perfect for young readers. You could easily read a chapter or short story per night, and have the book read in a week. This one is particularly great for younger audiences.

The Girl Who Saved Christmas: This book and author are new to me. This book is about a girl who believed in Santa enough that she got the very first Christmas gift from Santa. However, when her mother gets ill her Christmas spirit falls and the morale and holiday spirit goes down around the world. Santa goes on a quest to find Amelia, boost her spirits, and save Christmas for everyone.

A Boy Called Christmas: Written by the same author as The Girl Who Saved Christmas. In this story Nikolas has to travel to the North Pole to save his father, when he gets there he realizes Christmas Spirit is low, and that he needs to try and save Christmas, but he can't do it without finding his father first.

My Weird School: Miss Holly is Too Jolly: Kyle loves the My Weird School series! This book is about a Spanish teacher who goes wild and starts hanging mistletoe everywhere. See how the students get out of the conundrum in this cute story.

My Weird School: Deck The Halls, We’re Off the Walls: Another My Weird School book, AJ and his friends need to save the day when a concert at the mall where Santa Claus is at makes things go a little haywire. The friends from Ella Mentary School need to calm things down.

Amelia Bedelia Wraps it Up: Amelia Bedelia and her family celebrate and prepare for Christmas while honoring the true spirit of the holiday.

Magic Tree House Merlin Missions Christmas in Camelot: This is the first Merlin Mission book in the Magic Tree House Series. Merlin Mission books are for more advance readers as opposed to the traditional Magic Tree House series. In this book Jack and Annie travel to Camelot to go on a special quest and save Christmas in the process.

Magic Tree House Merlin Missions A Ghost Tale for Christmas: This story is a spin on A Christmas Carol. Jack and Annie travel back in time to help Charles Dickens who has been thrown in Jail! I love that these books combine historical fiction and fun in these creative tales.

The True Gift: All year long Liam and Lilly look forward to Christmas on their grandparents farm, but this year a white cow changes everything and they have to learn the meaning behind this special gift.

Nate The Great and The Crunchy Christmas: In this Nate the Great book Annie's dog is unhappy when his Christmas mail goes missing. Nate the Great takes the case to find the missing mail so Annie's dog can have a Christmas treat.

The Christmasaurus: Santa accidentally finds a dinosaur egg at the bottom of the ocean and sits on the egg to hatch it. Things get precarious when Santa accidentally gives the real dinosaur to a boy instead of a stuffed dinosaur, and then the boy needs to protect the dinosaur from a local hunter.

Rainbow Magic: Holly the Christmas Fairy: Jack Frost has stolen Santa's sleigh with three important gifts on board. Without them Christmas could be ruined forever. Rachel and Kristy look to save Christmas with help from Holly the Christmas Fairy.

Flat Stanley: Stanley’s Christmas Adventure: I recently purchased this book for Kyle and he gives it two thumbs up. Santa doesn't think that there are anymore good children in the world, so his Daughter Sarah calls Stanley's family for help. It's Stanley's job to convince Santa that kids are still good and tries to restore Santa's faith in Christmas.

Heidi Heckelbeck and the Christmas Surprise: Heidi loves Christmas, but took and lost her mother's special charm bracelet. By the time she finds it, the bracelet has been crushed by a snowplow, and when Heidi tries to fix it, she makes it worse. Can Heidi tell her mom about the bracelet and still have Christmas magic in her life? You'll have to read and find out!

A to Z Mysteries: White House White-Out: I think at this point Kyle has read every single book ever written by Ron Roy. This one is fun because it combines the characters from his Capital Mysteries books with the characters from A to Z Mysteries. Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose meet KC and Marshall at the White House, but everything goes crazy when the President's dog goes missing among all the people decorating the White House for Christmas.

Calendar Mysteries: December Dog: Calendar Mysteries is another series by Ron Roy. Brian, Bradley, Nate, and Lucy find a lost puppy on Christmas Eve who is supposed to be someone's Christmas gift. They need to find out who the puppy belongs to, and get it back to it's home in time for Christmas morning!

Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas: Emmet and his Ma are having hard times, but Emmet dreams of buying his mom the piano she's always wanted, and Ma dreams of buying Emmet a guitar. When they hear about a town talent show, they both imagine their dreams coming true, and find the true spirt of love and hope in the process.

Judy Moody and Stink: The Holly Holiday: Stink wants nothing more than to see snow in Virginia for the first time in 100 years, although it seems unlikely. Their new mailman happens to be Jack Frost, who knows a lot about weather patterns, and loves the snow... can he make Stink's wish come true?

The Critter Club: Amy’s Very Merry Christmas: This is a series that I'm excited to start reading with Kinsley. Amy wants to do something special for Ms Sullivan who is going to be alone on Christmas. When the Critter Club has some guinea pigs that need to be adopted, Amy has a trick up her sleeve to send some cheer Ms Sullivan's way.

Ballpark Mysteries: Christmas in Cooperstown: This series is new to me and I haven't read any of the books, but as someone who is from NY and has visited Cooperstown, I feel deeply invested in reading this book. Mike and Kate are wrapping presents for a charity and get to spend the night in the baseball hall of fame. When they're snooping around the museum at night, they realize one of the cards are fake. They have to find the real card, catch a bad guy, and wrap a bunch of presents in time for Christmas! Can they pull it off?

Ready Freddy: The Perfect Present: Freddy is so excited about Christmas and all the toys he's going to get until he realizes that not all kids are as lucky as him. He goes on a quest to find out if giving gifts is as much fun as getting them.

Horse Diaries: Jingle Bells: This book takes place in 1915 about a horse named Jingle Bells. He takes the family everywhere they need to go until their brother comes home with a Model T Ford. Jingle Bells worries the family won't need him anymore in this heartwarming Christmas tale.

Geronimo Stilton: The Christmas Toy Factory: As you can tell with the next six titles on this list, this appears to be a very expansive book series, with seven total books that are just about Christmas. This series alone has 70 books, but 281 books all together with multiple spinoff series. In this book Geronimo acts as Santa Clause for everyone in New Mouse City for his grandfather who is trying to write a book.

Geronimo Stilton: A Very Merry Christmas: Geronimo is trying to get home for Christmas when his luggage gets swapped with someone else's' and he has to go all around The Big Apple to find his luggage, gifts, and get home in time for Christmas.

Geronimo Stilton: Christmas Catastrophe: Geronimo tries to go skiing but ends up injured in the hospital and worries that it's going to be the worst Christmas ever, until his family does something special to cheer him up!

Geronimo Stilton: A Christmas Carol: A mousely early chapter book version of A Christmas Carol, told my a mouse.

Geronimo Stilton: Merry Christmas Geronimo: Disaster strikes on Christmas when Geronimo slips on his tail, and his mouse hole catches fire. Can things turn themselves around to save Christmas?

Geronimo Stilton: A Christmas Tale: Geronimo is super excited for Christmas until he finds out his entire family is going out of town and he's going to be alone. Is this going to be the worst and loneliness Christmas ever? You'll have to read and find out!

Horrible Harry and the Holidaze: Everyone in class 3B is getting super excited for the holidays and learning about Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and all the other celebrations, except for Harry. Something is clearly bothering him, but can we figure out what it is?

EllRay Jakes Rocks the Holiday: This entire EllRay series does a great job speaking about race for young audiences. In this book everyone is getting excited for the holiday season until EllRay accidentally says something mean to the only other boy in class with brown skin and makes him feel bad. Can EllRay turn things around for Christmas, rekindle his friendship, and honor his African American Roots?

Princess Posey and the Christmas Magic: Princess Posey wants nothing more than a real magic wand for Christmas, but she knows she's done something to upset her mom. Can she turn things around in time for Christmas in this witty story?

The Kingdom of Christmas: The Guardian of the Mountains: Princess Sarah and Prince Michael have to save Santa Claus and The Spirit of Christmas who have been taken captive in a scary ice castle. Can they finish their mission in time to save Christmas?

Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch: Deluxe Junior Novelization: This novel was written in 2018 to go alongside the new animated Grinch movie. It would be super fun to read with your child throughout the month and watch the movie together as a family.

Sophie Washington: Secret Santa: Sophie Washington finds out she has a Secret Santa who is delivering presents to her house. There isn't a Secret Santa happening at school, and all her friends think it might be a couple boys in her class who have liked her in the past. After she uncovers the clues she finds out the surprise is bigger than anything she could have ever imagined.

Ronaldo: The Reindeer Flying Academy: Ronaldo wants to win the endurance test to become Santa's Chief Reindeer in time for Christmas but it becomes more difficult than he could ever imagine. Ronaldo needs to discover self-belief and courage to be able to reach his goals!

26 Christmas Kids Movies

Is there anything better than Christmas Kids Movies in the month of December with your littles? These are 26 of our favorite Christmas Kids Movies to watch in our home!

When my oldest sister was little my mom recorded a bunch of Christmas movies from the 80s on a VHS tape that had all the holiday classics on it. My family and I watched that very VHS tape for 20+ straight Christmases and it's one of my favorite memories from growing up. now that I have my own children, I love watching Christmas kids movies with them, and making those same holiday memories in our home. While this list isn't exclusive to all the movies we watch during the holidays, it is a list of all the ones we watch with our own kids with minimal guilt (as in we will certainly watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, but aren't quite ready to share it with the kids yet!)

Christmas kids movies. Underrated Christmas movies. Animated Christmas movies. List of Christmas family films. Kids Christmas movies on Netflix. Obscure Christmas movies. Recent Christmas Movies. Christmas movies for toddlers. #holiday #christmas #family #movies

26 Christmas Kids Movies:

How the Grinch Stole Christmas: There are lots of Grinch movies out there, and there is even talk of a second Grinch movie in the works with Jim Carrey yet again, but there is something so nostalgic and classic about the original animated Grinch movie. You can find free versions on youtube, and also rent on Amazon. It's only 26 minutes long too, which makes it perfect to watch on a weeknight before bed.

Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas: This movie always reminds me of my childhood because it came out when I was nine and I remember seeing it in the theater and watching it with my brother all the time. This version is definitely more creepy when compared to the two animated versions, but I think I'm ready to scar Kyle with it this year. It's available to watch on Netflix!

The Grinch: This is the newest 2018 version and I personally think it's the best one yet! I like that it's a longer full length movie like the Jim Carrey one, but it's also significantly less creepy, and is just really fun and appealing to young audiences! It's also available to watch on Netflix.

Klaus: We fell in love with this Netflix original movie last year and have watched it several times. It's about a postal worker who gets sent to a rundown and scary town as a punishment for not doing his job, and in the end through the power of writing letters to Santa, he changes the entire town and community for the better. It's so fun!

Arthur’s Christmas: Derek and I saw this movie together in theaters 9 years ago and it's been a favorite of ours since! Santa is retiring and needs to pass the job onto one of his two boys. Everyone thinks it's going to be the militant like older brother, but the younger less likely brother encompasses everything that Christmas Spirit is about. It's such a fun and cute movie. Available to rent on Amazon.

Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You: This is an Amazon Prime Original Movie with the voice of Mariah Carey as a little girl who wants a puppy for Christmas. It came out in 2017, but we haven't watched it yet. I think this is something Kinsley will love this year.

Home Alone 1, 2, and 3 (and 4?): I don't know that each of these movies need their own category, but Kyle absolutely loves these movies. I know their a little borderline on the appropriate scale, but I think Kyle watched them with cousins when he was 5 or 6 and it's been all downhill from there. He absolutely dies laughing watching these, and listening to his hysterical laugh (if you know you know), is worth whatever potential inappropriateness lies within these movies. Also, in research for this post I found there is apparently a fourth movie we haven't watched? You can rent them all on Amazon. Or Watch on Disney+.

The Santa Clause 1, 2, 3: I love all three of these movies, and it's not the holiday season without watching them all. They're all available to rent on Amazon, but if you're only going to watch one, obviously watch the first one, it's such a classic.  Also Available on Disney+.

Jingle All The Way: This is one that my brother and I grew up watching every holiday season. It features Arnold Schwarzenegger, and how he goes out of his way to make sure his son has the action figure he wants for Christmas, even though it's sold out everywhere. It's fun to see all the mischief and trouble he goes through to be his son's hero. Available to rent on Amazon.

The Polar Express: Is it even Christmas if you don't watch this? My kids and I love watching this movie and it's one we look forward to watching as we wrap presents together right before Christmas. It's available to rent on Amazon.

Mickey’s Christmas Carol: This is the version of The Christmas Carol that I grew up watching, and didn't know there were other versions until I was 18. It's available to watch on Disney+, and in my opinion is the only version you need to watch this holiday season.

Jack Frost: I actually have only watched this movie once when I was younger, but it really is such a great and heartwarming movie about a boy who looses his dad and find's his spirit in a snowman. Available to rent on Amazon.

A Christmas Story: I haven't watched this one with the kids yet, and don't know if they're quite the right age yet, but it is such a great classic movie. I don't remember how old I was when I watched it for the first time, but I imagine we'll share it with the kids in a few more years. Also, turns out you can actually purchase a Red Ryder BB Gun at Walmart if anyone is interested.

ELF: This is without a doubt Derek's favorite Christmas movie. I'm surprised we haven't watched it yet, but I'm sure it's coming. It's available to rent on Amazon, but you should probably go ahead and buy this one if you haven't already.

Frosty the Snowman: This is obviously a holiday classic that I grew up watching along with everyone else on the planet, but it's just necessary. You can watch it for free on Youtube, and I recommend you do ;)

Santa Claus is Coming to Town: Santa Claus is Coming to Town has to be one of the best original claymation Christmas movies. It's available for free on Youtube as well, and is great to share with young audiences.

Charlie Brown Christmas: Another holiday classic with the peanuts gang! It's available to watch for free this year on AppleTV+ December 11-December 13th if you want to catch it with your kids! More details here.

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer: The claymation Rudolph is superior to all other versions of this holiday classic. You can purchase the DVD for $10 and it also comes bundled with Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and a few other movies too. This looks like the cheapest/easiest way to watch Rudolph this season.

The Star: I had never heard of this movie until I started writing this post, but it's about a bunch of animals that see a bright star in the sky and decide to follow it. The star leads them to Jesus and the first Christmas morning. It looks like a super sweet movie, and I can't wait to share it with the kids. It's animated, 1 hours and 26 minutes long, and made in 2017. It looks to be really good quality. You can rent on Amazon.

Disney’s a Christmas Carol: This animated version of A Christmas Carol features Jim Carrey and was made in 2009. I honestly can't remember if I've seen this one or not, but it actually looks really good. It's also available to watch on Disney+.

Olafs Frozen Adventure: This is a 26 minute short made by Disney where Olaf tries to bring back the Kingdom's Christmas traditions and save the holiday spirit for Anna and Elsa. It would make a great weeknight watch and is available on Disney+.

Peppa Pig: Peppa's Christmas: We have a massive Peppa Pig lover in our home, so we need all things Peppa all the time. This is a quick 10 minute episode to watch but it's another great weeknight watch if you want to cuddle up and watch something before bedtime. This also has an accompanying book as well. You can watch this for free on Youtube.

My Favorite Printer

I bought the Epsom EcoTank Printer back in February and it's by far been one of my best purchases in 2020. While the initial cost might be high, I can say that I've used this a ton and have not had to purchase new ink yet! The ink that the printer comes with is enough ink to print 4,000 colored pages and 7,500 black and white images. It is seriously the best feeling to not have to worry about running out of ink and being able to use your printer whenever you need it!

15 Christmas Kid's Books

Is there anything better than celebrating the holiday season with some Christmas kids books? These 15 picks will help you celebrate the season!

With Christmas a little over a month away, now is a great time to add a few new Christmas kid's books to your holiday collection, or to start placing those holds at the library so you can get your hands on some new read-aloud-books with your kids. Books are my favorite way to celebrate any holiday, and you can't go wrong with any fo the Christmas Kid's Books on this list.

Christmas kids books. Christmas in the manger. Christmas books for kindergarten. Best Christmas picture books. Christmas books for 8-year-olds. Christmas books for preschoolers. 25 children’s Christmas books. Best Christmas board books. Best children’s Christmas books 2020. #books #christmas #holiday #reading

Christmas Kid's Books:

A Creature Was Stirring: The story of a little boy who couldn't fall asleep on Christmas night and found himself awake when Santa got there!

Room for a Little One: A short cute story about the birth of Jesus. I love how it's written so young readers really know whats going on.

Mooseltoe: One papa Moose will do all he can to make sure his family has a great Christmas. Find out what he does when they find themselves without a Christmas tree the night before Santa gets there.

Ten on a Sled: A fun story about a reindeer going on a sleigh ride with his favorite animal friends.

The Christmas Story: A Little Golden Book story about the Birth of Christ. This one goes a lot more in depth than the Room for a Little One, and it's incredibly affordable if you can't find it at your library.

The Night Before the Night Before Christmas: You know me and my love for Natasha Wing books. This one was a no brainer for the list.

Christmas Farm: This story is beautifully written and one of my favorites. It's about an older woman that has a sunflower farm and decides to switch things up with Christmas trees. It's a really great story with beautiful illustrations.

Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree: Mr. Willowby's Christmas tree is too big for his house. So he cuts off the top and the story tells how the little top of his tree provided Christmas cheer for all the animals near and far.

Olive, The Other Reindeer: Olive the dog here's the song "all of the other reindeer...", and thinks they're saying "Olive", read all about her fun adventures as she tries to help Santa and his team.

Click, Clack, Ho! Ho! Ho!: We're huge fans of Click Clack Moo and have loved getting the other books in the series. This one has been welcomed addition.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas: I personally love the Grinch and find that it's not Christmas without reading the book and watching the movies. It's a holiday classic and there is something great about someone who softens their heart and gives back to others.

The Polar Express: Another holiday must! We admittedly have never read the book and have only watched the movie, but I think this is the year we need to add it to our collection and make it a part of our traditions.

Little Red Sleigh: This book is a new release for 2020 and is about a little red sleigh that has dreams of becoming Santa's real sleigh one day. I hear this is really heartwarming and a great story to read, and I can't wait to read it this year.

Pick a Pine Tree: This fun book takes you through the process of picking out a Christmas tree and getting it ready for the holiday season! Maybe it's because we don't have our tree up yet, but this is one that I'm excited to read with the kids soon!

5 Sleeps Til Christmas: Another new release for 2020 from Jimmy Fallon! He has some really wonderful children's books, and I can't wait for this sweet book about a child counting down the days until Christmas morning.

What are some of your favorite books to read during the holidays? I'd love to hear in the comments below!

Nativity Advent Calendar

This free Nativity Advent Calendar is the perfect printable to make with your family this holiday season to help you celebrate the birth of our Savior and the true reason for the season.

Advent bible verses. 25 bible verses for Christmas. Christmas bible verses pdf. 24 Christmas bible verses. #bible #advent #adventcalendar #nativity #christmas #holiday

I used to make an advent calendar for our family every year, and then the last two years our kids had advent calendars gifted to them, so I didn't make one. This year I decided to try my hand at making one again, and thought it would be fun to share it with all of you! This free printable nativity advent calendar is the perfect way to count down to Christmas and remember the birth of our Savior and the true reason why we celebrate this holiday.

Nativity Advent Calendar:

This nativity advent calendar can be printed from the comfort of your own home. There is a scripture for each day that you can read with your family, and then from there you can discuss as a family what is happening in the scriptures and break it down for young children to understand.

I simply wrote which scripture to read, and didn't type them out because I know so many people read different translations of the bible and I wanted to give families the opportunity to read whichever version works best in their home.

How to Make This Nativity Advent Calendar:

For this project you will need a printer, scissors, glue stick, tape, and string.

To make this advent calendar you're going to need a printer to print out all the papers. You're going to print 8 pages of the star sheet, and then just one copy of each of the scripture pages.

From there you're going to cut out all 24 of your stars, and then cut out around each of the scripture squares. If you cut as close to the holly wreath as possible on each of the scripture verses, you'll be able to glue them onto the back of each of the stars like I did here.

I made sure all of my stars were in rotating color order, "gold, green, red, gold, green, red, etc...", and then used a long piece of twine that I tapped onto the back of each star to form it into a garland in number order.

How to use the Nativity Advent Calendar:

I hung the garland onto my wall, and then each day leading up to Christmas we'll take one of the stars off and read the accompanying scripture and discuss it together as a family. I used stars as the shape for the calendar because the wise men followed a star to Christ. Likewise, we can follow these stars throughout the month of December to follow the journey to the birth of Christ.

Karo Syrup Pecan Pie Recipe

The only pecan pie recipe you need is this Karo Syrup Pecan Pie Recipe. It brings together all the warm and delicious flavors of the holiday season with the delicious nutty goodness from Karo Syrup.

Pecan pie is not a pie I grew up eating during the holidays. When I was a senior in high school my dad was dating someone who had an amazing pecan pie recipe that she would make for my friend and I. We might have been bribed to like her with pie... I think it worked? But my dad and her also aren't together anymore so maybe it didn't? Hard to tell. When Derek and I hosted Thanksgiving in 2013 I made this Karo Syrup Pecan Pie Recipe and it turned out perfectly. If you're looking to make Pecan Pie this year, you're in the right place.

Karo Syrup Pecan Pie Recipe:

Pecan pie is actually really easy and straightforward to make as long as you have the proper tools, and follow the directions closely. You're going to boil your sugar and Karo Corn Syrup for two minutes and allow it to cool slightly. Then in a different bowl you'll beat your eggs while slowly pouring the sugar mixture into the eggs, while you keep beating. You must keep beating while you pour the sugar mixture into your eggs, otherwise the eggs will scramble from the heat of the sugar and you'll have a clumpy mixture.

Once your sugar and eggs are mixed together, get a mesh strainer and strain the the mixture into another bowl to make sure it's nice and smooth. Then mix in your remaining ingredients, pour into a pie crust, and bake in the oven for about 50 minutes!

What type of pecans to use for this Karo Syrup Pecan Pie Recipe?

For this recipe I used either pecan pieces or halves because that is what was available at our grocery store the Thanksgiving of 2013. You'll still want to use those because the recipe calls to chop them for the mixture anyways, however, I think the next time I make this pie I would purchase some whole pecans as well to lay on top of the pie in a pretty design, but that is totally optional and not required.

Can I make Karo Syrup Pecan Pie ahead of time?

Yes! You can actually make this pie, cool it all the way, and then freeze in an airtight freezer bag for up to three months. Simply thaw it in the fridge 24 hours before serving and you're good to go. You can also make this the day before Thanksgiving, cover it with plastic wrap, and store in the fridge until you're ready to serve!

Ingredients:
3/4 cup light  corn syrup
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
1 unbaked deep dish pie crust (I used frozen, thawed)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. In a sauce pan boil together sugar and corn syrup for 2 minutes and then cool slightly.

In a large bowl beat the eggs lightly while slowly pouring the syrup mixture into the bowl, stirring constantly so the eggs don't scramble. Strain the mixture over a large mixing bowl to remove any lumps and then add the butter, vanilla, and pecans. Stir together and then pour into pie crust.

Bake for 50-55 minutes or until set. Make sure to bake it with tin foil covering it, not tightly, just lay a sheet gently on top to prevent the crust from browning too fast.

Can You Make Dutch Apple Pie Ahead of Time?

Yes! I love to make all my pies the night before Thanksgiving so that it's one less thing I have to worry about the day of. Difference Between Apple Pie and Dutch Apple Pie:

The major difference between apple pie and dutch apple pie is that a traditional apple pie typically has two crusts. One on the top, and one on the bottom. A Dutch apple pie, or apple crumble pie, has one crust on the bottom, and a brown sugar crumble baked on top. Both pies are amazing, but if you love a good apple crisp, this pie might be the one for you!
