Our Kids Summer Schedule for 2026

This schedule came to be because we are hiring a nanny one day a week this summer to be with Kinsley while I'm getting work done. There will be plenty of time other days where Kyle engages with her, and I engage with her, and all the things, but we find everyone getting a break one day a week is usually good for the household, so I made this schedule for our nanny to have something to go off of when she is here.

I had ChatGPT make the original image for this, and then I uploaded it into Canva, erased a bunch of stuff, and made it editable to tweak it how I personally needed it for our family and our nanny. When I was done, I realized that this could be so helpful for other families looking to get into a routine this summer, so I decided to turn it into a template for you all to use as well.

You can access the Canva template through this link. It will automatically make a copy for you in your account.

Summer Crafts for Kids:

I find that having a craft to work on together between Kinsley and the nanny is usually a good idea. I ordered a bunch from Walmart and Amazon, and they'll work through one a week together throughout the summer. If you're looking for some good craft options, here are ones we purchased:

Kids Summer Schedule
Weaving Loom: I loved playing with these when I was a kid, and I thought it would be relatively easy that Kinsley could do it on her own without needing too much help! I think she'll love it, and it will be fun for her and our nanny to work on it together!

Kids Summer Schedule
Pom Pom Art Kit: Each page is essentially a sticker, and you peel off the paper to reveal the sticky part. Then you strategically place the pom poms on the image to make the intended creation! This would be super easy for most kids to do while still being really enjoyable.

DIY Terrarium Kit: I thought this looked super cute, and really easy to do because there essentially isn't a right or a wrong way to put the project together. I think the little animals it comes with also happen to be adorable.

Rainbow Loom Bracelet Kit: This was the last craft we bought for now. I don't think Kinsley has made bracelets like this before, so I think she'll have fun making them and figuring it out!

Summer Learning Workbooks:

This was a staple of my childhood and something that I have tried to implement with my kids over the years as well. I purchased this one on Amazon that is a second-grade level, but there are lots of different options that you can choose from!

A Camera for Capturing Summer Memories:

Kinsley loves who we picked for her to be her nanny this summer and has honestly known her for most of her life. I thought it would be fun to buy a camera that prints photos, and they can take a picture of one fun thing they did each day this summer, and then I bought a little photo album that fits all the pictures in there, so at the end of the summer, Kinsley can look back at all the fun they had together!
