Pizza Crust

Derek and I love eating pizza, but sadly we have seriously only eaten it about 5 times total this year. It used to be about 5 times a month back in Utah when there was a Little Caeser's right around the corner from us. But, as a family decision to use the money we spend on eating out to go toward doing fun family activities instead, we've been eating in a lot more lately and it's been so fun to cook dinner together. Last night was a well needed pizza night, and this was my first time making homemade dough, and sauce, so I really had no expectations for this meal tasting good at all. Turns out it was delicious, and Derek took 2 slices to work today for lunch. Note: Derek bringing leftovers for lunch never happens.

Sauce
Ingredients:
1 10.34oz can tomato puree
1/4 cup water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp olive oil
1/4 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp basil
1/4 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions:
Mix everything together in a medium pot and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Spread evenly on pizza dough and then top with desired toppings. We did mozzarella, pepperoni, black olives, and pepperoncini peppers.

Dough
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp yeast
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°. Mix together all the dry ingredients and then add the water and shape into dough on pizza pan, top with sauce and desired toppings. Bake 20-25 minutes.
