I truly have to thank my sister Brooke for my deep love for Reese's. When I was younger I pretty much wanted to be exactly like her in every which way, which resulted in me copying everything she did when she would come home for visits. Hopefully she thought it was cute, but it was probably a little annoying. Anyways, I remember one Easter when I was 7 or 8 and she came home and introduced me to the wonder of the Reese's egg. It was a glorious moment, because they are amazing! However, spending $.69 a pop for them at the store, not so glorious. I've seen a lot of copy cat recipes for these around the internet and pinterest this year, so I decided to go ahead and give them a try after forming the recipe to what I had on hand, and out of things that would not be gross, like tofu, or cream cheese, or Crisco. They actually taste JUST LIKE THE REAL THING!
Recipe From: Me
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
3 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup melted butter
7 squares almond bark (you can use chocolate chips or other chocolate, this is what I had and it works awesome)
Mix all the ingredients in your mixer using the paddle attachment
Form into egg shapes
Put in the freezer to harden up a bit for about 30 mins
Melt your chocolate or almond bark in 30 second increments in the microwave, until all melted
Dip each egg into the chocolate, and get coated on all sides, and then transfer to wax paper to harden
Do this for the remaining eggs, and then you're done!
