A couple weeks ago when I was getting everything ready for my Thanksgiving Dessert Bar, I made these adorable turkey cupcakes and thought that they were too cute not to share! I got the idea for this when I was at the super market a few weeks ago and saw something similar on a magazine cover. I thought, "I can do that", and then realized I bought the wrong shaped cookie and had to improvise a little bit. I think they turned out even better than the magazine cover and they were a total hit with my three-year-old, and husband.
What You Need:
Chocolate Cupcakes (I used boxed mix)
Round Nutter Butters (or other light colored sandwhich cookie)
Black Edible Marker
Red Cookie Icing
Make and frost your cupcakes according to the package instructions. Then wedge 4-5 candy corn pieces in between the two cookies to make the feathers of the turkey. Using your edible marker, draw two dots on the cookie for the eyes. Using your butter knife, cut the tip off of a candy corn. Then using the toothpick, pick up a glob of red cookie icing, and use that to adhere the candy corn piece to the cookie to make it look like the turkey's nose. Once the nose it attached, gently press the cookie into the cupcake, and you're done!
